Remember that thing I said in the last post? About not having to work the mandatory overtime this week?
Yeah, well today I found out that I would have to work the mandatory overtime this week.
Which means, if you've been following along, that I will be making around a dollar an hour more than I currently do. (see the last post for the reason why)
Mandatory overtime is legal, and we all agreed to work for a wage much lower than we make with the addition of our 3 dollar an hour fringe benefit.
Of course we all didn't think that we would be working mandatory overtime.
Come to think of it, we should have seen this coming. IAP had to beat the IRS bid somehow, and apparently the way they did that was by figuring out that if they played it right (and we didn't catch on) that they could have us work 5 ten-hour days and an extra eight-hour day (yes, we have to work Saturday) at basically our normal pay. (I will, for instance, be making roughly 10 extra dollars on Saturday.)
